I could leave this post with just one photo to prove my point, but I really wouldn't be doing the sport of Scuba diving justice. So instead, I am going to elaborate and tell you why you should scuba dive.
Today, everyone gets so caught up in their own hectic lives of schedules, traffic and work and they really forget about what is important in life. People get lost in their emails, texts and blackberrys and forget to take time to look around. They’ve lost sight of the wonder and the magic in the world. They’ve left their childhood behind where they used to uncover new and mysterious places. They’ve stopped seeing life as an adventure.
Scuba diving brings that magic and wonder back to life and leaves you in awe.
So… why should you learn to scuba dive?
First and foremost, scuba diving is a sport unlike any other on earth. Not only can it keep you fit, but people can participate across a variety of ages, health levels, and skills. And being in the water is very soothing and gentle.
Secondly, the world beneath the surface is so unlike anything that you encounter in your daily life. There is a vast wonder of treasures to discover from colorful natural reefs, to sunken ships and mysterious caves. Every dive holds something unique and presents you with a new adventure.
Finally, there is some sort of spiritual connection when you are immersed in the blue world of wonder, far away from the cell phones and traffic jams, from your deadlines and budget concerns... there is nothing between you and nature. It is truly an experience unlike anything you can imagine -- until you are in the middle of this mesmerizing underwater world. By taking time out to connect with nature, to step away from the craziness of your everyday life, you manage to re-center yourself.
Besides, where else do you get to go to places in the middle of the red sea in Egypt and see beautiful sites like this above and below the water?
