I have been thinking a lot lately about friendships, what it means to be a friend and how friendships evolve over the years. It seems like as we age and grow we go through a number of changes with friends. Milestones such as going to high school, then college... that first job after college when you are adjusting in your new adult life... getting married and then starting a family... all lead to adjustments in your free time and it is always important to remember and cherish those friends that have been there for you.
I have been working on a poem for a few weeks now to express this, but it isn't quite right, so I will instead leave you with some quotes.
“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”
"A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.”
